A Holiday Message from Denis J. Sullivan

On behalf of The Valley Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees and staff, I wish you and your family a healthy and happy holiday season. This is a time to reflect on our achievements of the past year and to set a hopeful course for the year ahead.

It is also a pleasure to extend my gratitude to our many donors and volunteers who help make it possible for Valley to provide the finest patient care. It is truly fulfilling to be part of this most generous and caring community.

With the help you provided to the Foundation, we accomplished a great deal in 2008. I hope that you share our pride in the tremendous milestones that we reached this past year:

• David F. Bolger made an inspiring $30 million gift to The Valley Hospital. Believed to be the largest donation ever to a New Jersey hospital, David’s gift helps to make certain that Valley will be able to provide the best possible patient care for years to come.
  
  
• Valley dedicated the Kireker Center for Child Development in honor of the Kireker Family and the family’s wonderful generosity to Valley.
  
  
• Valley Home Care opened a new Journeys center. This center will provide a comforting environment where children and adolescents can develop coping skills to deal with loss and grief. Major support for this new center was provided by the Leonard Young Memorial Foundation.
  
  
• A heartfelt bequest from the late Dorothy J. Marron ensured the Marron Chapel and pastoral care services will continue providing spiritual healing to all of Valley’s patients, families, and friends.

I, again, share my deep appreciation with each and every Valley donor and volunteer for all that you do to make sure our Hospital and Home Care are always there when we need them. May this wonderful spirit of giving and caring be with you all this holiday season and throughout the coming year.
